Article describing steps to install the application VDDSAIA successfully and to launch it on the target computer.
The I/O Server Toolkit by Wonderware was used in the development of VDDSAIA, which requires the Wonderware FS2000 I/O Server Common Components package to be installed on the target computer before installing VDDSAIA. The kit is automatically installed, for instance, together with the InTouch application or I/O servers based on the I/O Server Toolkit. Therefore, if you have already installed some of those applications, you are ready for installation. If you have not, you will have to install the kit. Either from a Wonderware installation CD, usually labelled I/O Servers, or, if you do not have it, you can download the package using the link on the Download page. If you use an installation CD, run X:/Fs2k71/IOServer/Common/Win32/Setup.exe, where X is the letter of your CD drive, to start installing the package; if you have downloaded the package from this site, run Xxx/IOServer/Common/Win32/Setup.exe, where Xxx is the directory into which you have extracted the downloaded package.
Always install the latest available version, which can be downloaded from Download page.
Extract the downloaded install x.zip package (the x indicates the version of VDDSAIA) into a suitable temporary directory and then run Setup.exe. You can choose any installation directory during the installation. When you have finished the installation, you can delete the temporary directory.
Running the Application
When a new instance is run for the first time, all the necessary keys will be created in the system registry and filled with default values.
The presence of a registration code is tested whenever the application is launched. The key can be entered from the main application menu (License -> Registration). This code is identical and valid for all application instances. If no registration code is found or if the code is invalid, the application will run in a demo mode and a window notifying of this will appear when the application is launched. When in demo mode, the application is allowed to keep no more than 15 data points in its list of updated variables. No other functionality restrictions apply.
